Softball in Banbury, September 2004
On a chilly night (24 September), Banbury Young Professionals enjoyed a social game of softball with Oxfordshire's young surveyors at the Banbury Twenty Cricket Club. Light refreshments, nibbles and a visit to a local hostelry made up the rest of the evening.
With the running around, swinging of bats and catching of balls everyone soon warmed up. One member states, "I think those of us who'd never played before all learned a valuable lesson - The game of softball does not involve anything soft, least of all the ball!"
With both sides being very competitive, the number of home runs were few and far between. A draw was agreed upon in time for the teams to head off to a nearby pub for dinner and drinks.
